A number of Thoroughbred organizations are valuable resources for novice and experienced horsemen.

The THOROUGHBRED OWNERS AND BREEDERS ASSOCIATION (TOBA) is a national trade organization for Thoroughbred owners and breeders. Based in Lexington, Ky., TOBA offers educational clinics and seminars across the country for prospective, new and established owners. TOBA also seeks to enhance the industry through programs such as the SALES INTEGRITY PROGRAM, the AMERICAN GRADED STAKES COMMITTEE and the CLAIMING CROWN.

The NATIONAL THOROUGHBRED RACING ASSOCIATION (NTRA) serves as a league office as well as a trade association for the Thoroughbred industry.

THE JOCKEY CLUB is the breed registry for Thoroughbreds in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. The organization is dedicated to the improvement of Thoroughbred breeding and racing. Its subsidiaries include EQUIBASEINCOMPASS SOLUTIONSTHE GRAYSON-JOCKEY CLUB RESEARCH FOUNDATION and THE JOCKEY CLUB INFORMATION SYSTEMS.

The KENTUCKY THOROUGHBRED ASSOCIATION was formed in 1983 by horsemen in Kentucky to help maintain the highest standards of racing, breeding and training.

KEEP, the Kentucky Equine Education Project, is a statewide organization aimed at increasing awareness of the benefits of Kentucky's horse economy and to promote jobs and economic opportunities for Kentuckians through the commonwealth's world-class horse industry.

The RACING MEDICATION AND TESTING CONSORTIUM is a national organization aimed at developing, promoting and coordinating policies, research and educational programs that help ensure the integrity of racing.

THOROUGHBRED OWNERVIEW is an information website developed by The Jockey Club and TOBA for new, prospective and current Thoroughbred owners. The initial release of OwnerView includes detailed information about trainers, managed racing syndicates, getting started owning Thoroughbreds, licensing, racehorse retirement and much more.
