Ward Pleased with Lady Aurelia's Final Keeneland Work Before Breeders' Cup Run

LEXINGTON, KY (Oct. 21, 2017) – Trainer Wesley Ward was excited after Stonestreet Stables and Peter Leidel’s Keeneland-based European champion Lady Aurelia turned in her final Keeneland work Saturday, a day before she leaves for Southern California and her next start in the $1 million Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint (G1) on Nov. 4 at Del Mar.

Wesley Ward Back at Keeneland after Royal Ascot Success

LEXINGTON, KY (June 26, 2017) – Trainer Wesley Ward was at his Keeneland base Monday morning, overseeing his string that soon will include two recent stakes winners at the prestigious Royal Ascot meet in England: King’s Stand (G1) winner Lady Aurelia and Sandringham (L) winner Con Te Partiro.

LEXINGTON, KY (May 30, 2017) – Keeneland-based trainer Wesley Ward sent out seven runners on Tuesday, including European champion Lady Aurelia, for works over the turf course here in preparation for stakes at Royal Ascot in England in June.

All seven Royal Ascot-bound horses were winners at Keeneland this spring, contributing to Ward’s 11 meet victories and earning for him leading trainer honors. 

Wesley Ward, Joel Rosario Lead Peers to Begin Final Week of Keeneland Spring Meet

LEXINGTON, KY (April 26, 2017) – With three days remaining in Keeneland’s 2017 Spring Meet, Wesley Ward appears on the verge of his third Keeneland title as leading trainer while the race for leading jockey is much closer.

Ward has 10 wins, including the April 15 Giant’s Causeway with Lady Aurelia, in his bid for his second Spring Meet crown. In 2012, he won nine races during the Spring Meet and led all trainers in the Fall Meet with 12 victories.

He won Wednesday’s first race with Ice Wine Stable’s Royal Asset.

Keeneland September Sale Graduate No Nay Never Sets Course Record in Winning Royal Ascot's Norfolk (G2)

Linda Shanahan and Ice Wine Stable's No Nay Never, a graduate of Keeneland's November Breeding Stock and September Yearling Sales, put up a stunning performance at Royal Ascot today when breaking the five-furlong track record by a two-year-old in the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes. No Nay Never won his career debut on closing day of Keeneland's spring meet, and is based at Keeneland with trainer Wesley Ward.
